Design Jalur Pipe Gas
1.Prinsip penentuan jalur (right of way [ROW]) pipa gas tidak berbeda jauh dengan prinsip penentuan jalur jalan antara dua titik (ref. Survey Teknik Sipil). Tim perancang (Sipil, Mekanikal, dll) telah memiliki batasan tertentu tentang jenis ROW yang harus dibuat karena hal ini diantaranya menyangkut kemampuan maksimum bending pipa mengingat (perbedaan dengan ROW jalan) sedikit sekali modifikasi relief (muka bumi) pada ROW. Lebar ROW ditentukan berdasarkan rencana pengembangan jalur tersebut sampai puluhan tahun kedepan. Contoh jalur pipa gas 28" Grissik-Duri panjang ROW 540Km-lebar 25m dimana Grissik-Sekernan dipasang pipa baru lagi disamping pipa sebelumnya.
2.Setelah kriteria ROW dan 2 titik awal-akhir didapat maka dilakukan survey umum untuk mendapatkan jalur-jalur alternatif. Biasanya menggunakan wahana satelit (ref. remote sensing). Banyak provider citra satelit, kemudian diproses menjadi peta yang dapat dibaca oleh semua orang. Dalam tahap ini terjadi penyeleksian awal kelaikan ROW atau bisa saja semua laik untuk survey lebih rinci ke butir 3 atau 4.
3.Survey udara menggunakan wahana pesawat selanjutnya dilakukan untuk mendapatkan gambaran ROW secara lebih rinci tentang land use, road crossing, river crossing, kemudahan akses saat konstruksi, pembebasan tanah, perkiraan muka rupa bumi (karena masih tertutup hutan), bahan untuk Amdal, dll. Jenis survey udara yang dipilih (al. normal,lidar,small format) sangat bergantung pada kondisi cuaca dan biaya. Hasilnya berupa peta garis dan atau peta foto yang mudah dianalisa oleh setiap bidang keahlian yang memerlukannya untuk memberikan masukan bagi ROW paling optimal. Diharapkan survey pada tahap ini sudah cukup rinci.
4a.Bila diperlukan maka dilakukan survey terrestrial. Perlu tidaknya survey ini cukup sensitif mengingat berhubungan pada masalah non teknis seperti harga tanah, religi tanah, dll. Biasanya dari butir-3 sudah rinci sehingga saat tahap ini dilakukan sekaligus dengan pembebasan tanah, pemasangan titik-titik kontrol menggunakan GPS, pemasangan batas pembebasan, dll. Sepasang titik kontrol untuk setiap 10-20Km di luar ROW lk 1-2 Km dari ROW agar tidak rusak saat pekerjaan konstruksi dilaksanakan.
4b.Survey bathymetri dilakukan pada setiap rencana river crossing, sekaligus pengambilan contoh batuan dasar sungai/ketebalan sedimen karena pipa akan dipasang dibawah dasar sungai agar tidak mengganggu alur sungai dan sedimen tidak merusak pipa saat operasi. 5.Peta akhir jalur pipa siap disajikan sebaiknya dilengkapi geographic information system (GIS) agar seluruh informasi sekecil apapun dapat terdokumentasi sesuai kronologinya yang akan berguna untuk proses selanjutnya (design, tender, konstruksi, perbandingan dengan as-built, dan selama operasi penggunaan pipa dilakukan).

5. Berkoordinasi dengan designer yang mengerti seluk beluk piping plan setempat untuk merundingkan peletakan pipanya agar selain manis rupa juga memberikan kemungkinan bagi modifikasi lebih lanjut di masa depan dan tentu saja ergonomis dan accesable buat crew maintenance dan operator
6. Melakukan Mark-up piping plan dan isometric drawing (pengecekan kekuatan mekanik biasanya dilakukan oleh Mechanical Engineer (Finite Element Analysis, Welding Criteria, Stress Analysis dsb, Pak Hasanuddin lebih tahu soal ini)
7. Meninjau ulang safetynya (pada banyak kasus hanya Process Safety Review biasa atau jika perlu PHA dan pada beberapa perusahaan malah melakukan Consequence Analysis (disinilah Wind Map berguna)) yang biasanya dilakukan oleh sebuah tim multidisiplin
8. Cycling process jika hasil tinjau ulang safety menyatakan harus dilakuakn desain ulang....
9. Jika tinjau ulang telah dilaksanakan, dokumen jadi (PFD, P&ID, Piping Plan, Isometric, Plant Layout, dst) segera diteruskan dengan menyusun Bill of Material, Material request dsb, yang sudah memasuki fase Procurement yang umumnya sih bukan lagi scope Process Engineer

• Candidate must have strong experience in full disassembly! reassembly, overhaul works required for main and auxiliary engines manufactured by MAN-B&W, Wartsila, Mitsubishi, etc. (1&2)
• Troubleshooting and repair of operational problems including fuel systems, turbochargers, starting air, vibration, etc (2)
• Crankshaft inspection and evaluation skills required, including measurement, condition and alignment.(2)
• Understand Management Power Plant (Independence Product Power/IPP) (1)
• Able to work independently and willingness to travel and work on site (1&2)
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) will be advantage (1&2)
• Computer literature & good writing report (l&2)
• Excellent health conditions (1&2)
